Media Studies and Architectural Education

Media studies is another essential element of any architectural education. It's the studying of media that are useful in architecture such as drawing, and digital presentation. It's therefore, different, but plays a complementary role to what's called the design studio. (the core and the most important subject area in any architectural education program).

Computing has changed the way we operate in the modern world. Architects today depend, in most cases, entirely on computer applications to produce their work. Computer-aided drafting (CAD)has become the design tool instead of the traditional pen and paper. Computer Aided Design (CAD) has made it faster, and easier for architects throughout the design process.

This has profound consequences for the way we conceive, perceive and interact within built environments.

We will be covering a wide range of courses that addresses the multi-focused complicity of architectural projects execution. This section attempts to include a variety of techniques that deal with methods of design in architecture.

Subjects covered are:

1)Introduction to Architectural Computer Graphics

2)Manual and digital drawing tools

3)Digital media

4)Design inquiry

5)Advanced Computer Applications
